Forest Nature Requires Long‑Term Commitment
The Finnish Forest Foundation encourages its stakeholders and new partners to work together for the benefit of forest nature and the climate. Donations are directed to projects that deliver concrete solutions for restoration, nature conservation, and the well‑being of forest ecosystems.
The Finnish Forest Foundation is a joint grant‑making foundation of the forest sector and has strengthened the operating conditions of Finland’s forest‑based livelihoods for over 30 years. The Foundation’s long experience in grant‑making and project funding ensures the responsible and impactful use of donated funds.

Example of a funded forest nature project
Suomen vesistösäätiö was awarded €30,000 for the project “Talousmetsien pienvesien tilan parantaminen”, which is part of the nationwide Pienvesien helmet programme.
The project implements restoration and management measures for small water bodies in five different regions and at approximately 20 pilot sites. These sites also serve as training and learning environments. The aim is to strengthen the expertise of forest sector actors and to expand cooperation networks so that the consideration of small water bodies becomes a natural part of sustainable forest management and climate change adaptation in the future.

How Is Your Donation Used?
Donated funds are used to support projects that promote the conservation and biodiversity of forest nature, such as restoration, biodiversity monitoring, the development of climate‑resilient forest management methods, and communication that increases understanding of the importance of forest nature. Donations are allocated to projects funded by the Finnish Forest Foundation and implemented by organizations, research institutions, forest sector actors, and educational institutions.
The Finnish Forest Foundation directs forest nature donations directly to projects, not to administrative costs. Funded projects are required to report on their activities and operate with transparency.
