We are building a successful future for the forest industry

Donations

The Finnish Forest Foundation operates primarily on donated funds. Donations made in connection with timber transactions, referred to as Forest Foundation donations, are the Foundation’s main source of income. The decision to donate is made by the forest owner. When a forest owner makes a donation, the timber‑purchasing company donates the same amount to the Foundation. In recent years, a Forest Foundation donation has been made in approximately one out of every three timber transactions.

In addition, the Finnish Forest Foundation accepts other types of donations, including legacy donations.

The Finnish Forest Foundation strengthens public understanding of the sustainable use of forests and their importance to society. The Foundation builds a bridge between forests, people, and the future.

Grants of the Finnish Forest Foundation

The grants of the Finnish Forest Foundation support projects related to the forest sector and forestry that strengthen the sector’s visibility, social acceptance, and vitality. We fund both individual projects—such as communication campaigns, events, and research—as well as projects that form part of a broader initiative.

Grants are generally awarded for one year at a time and are available to organizations as well as private actors whose projects contribute to the future of the Finnish forest sector.
